Nice to meet you!

Hi there, I’m Sarah- ICU pharmacist, voracious reader, dog mom, ice cream enthusiast- and your new run coach.

Running has been a catalyst to joy, self-confidence, and belief in myself, and I’m on a mission to help other runners feel the same. I’ve learned a thing or two over my 20+ years of running and am here to help you crush your next race and help you feel strong and confident on your training runs.

My life has taken me from Upstate New York to Rhode Island to New York City to Boston to Tennessee, and running has been my constant companion throughout it all. I followed the middle school and high school cross country/track and field path, and even had a year and a half stint as a college runner before I decided to focus on academics. As I transitioned into pharmacy school and away from a more competitive athletics environment, I found myself still making time for my runs to ground myself and get a much-needed endorphin boost before long nights of studying. After I realized I was running up to 12 miles for fun, I signed up for a trail half marathon, and my first marathon quickly followed. I loved how the training structure complimented my busy schedule and gave me a block of time every day just to unwind and truly be myself. I became more comfortable writing training plans that worked around the chaos of life, and gained so much satisfaction from chasing down big time goals in the marathon (my favorite distance). I went on to run 3 more marathons in pharmacy school (and one in my second year of residency!) and the lessons I learned from miles on the road and pursuing personal goals that were separate from my professional goals were invaluable.

Fast forwarding a few years, a big professional move to Tennessee, and a global pandemic, I was chatting with a childhood friend who was moving to Atlanta and suggested running the marathon together as a way to welcome her to the South and give her a grand tour of her new city. Experiencing her first 26.2 experience through her eyes, and sharing the tips I had learned over my many years of running with her sparked an interest in coaching for me- could I play a role in helping others to achieve their goals? Not long after, I signed up for a run coaching certification through UESCA, and with the encouragement of my husband, close friends, and my own run coach, Catalyst Running was born.

If you’re a big dreamer but need an expert to help you ignite your training and balance running with your busy life , I’m here to help you achieve your goals- and have a blast in the process.

TL;DR: I’m Coach Sarah and I’m here to empower you to achieve your running goals.
